Canadian's take 1st place at Formula Student Final

Dated: 14/07/2005

Toronto University took the overall Class 1 Winner's crown at the 2005 Formula Students Final in Bruntingthorpe.

Formula Student is a competition aimed at University students. Each team must design, build, race and market a single-seater race car. With one past F1 in Schools competitior already competing in Formula Student we hope to see many more over the years.

This years Formula Student final was a huge success with close to 100 teams competing from Universities and Colleges across the world. There where some amazing designs and a buzz very similar to that found in the F1 in Schools pit's.

Each teams car was put through a range of tests including a straight line acceleration test and an endurance race. The teams also had to give a number of verbal presentations to a board of judges.

The top British Team was the University of Hertfordshire who finished 7.
