Team BCAM'S Win Portugal's First National Final

Team bcam'sLast Wednesday, the racetrack of Estoril received the final competition “F1 at school”. The 11 students’ teams between 14-17 years old, from the Famalicăo, Viseu, Coimbra, Esmoriz, Porto and Matosinhos schools struggled for the world final competition in London.

 

The competition begun in London with Andrew Denford who put under proof the students’ ability to create a small scale Formula 1, since the project until the race moment. The students had to prepare a business plan in English which comprises the development of a budget and getting company’s support.The students constructed several cars until getting the perfect small scale F1 to take it to the competition.

 

The winner team, “BCAM’S” will participate in the final competition in London on 15-17 September.

This initiative is used to strengthen an attractive learning environment which will allow the young men to awake for the engineer, innovation, entrepreneurship and technological areas. In this way, the students are in contact with the business of the studies plan in an innovative way.

 

The competition is supported by RECET, in the scope of “Think Industry” project with the purpose to change the perception of the students about the industry, attracting them to an economical activity where innovation and qualified human resources are clearly needed.

The happening had the presence of Pedro Lamy, Domingos Piedade, Miguel Paes do Amaral and Dr. Castro Guerra, Secretary of State of Economy and Innovation.
